Who is ready for a Christmas Tour at Fletcher Creek Cottage?
It seems unreal that we are about to have our second Christmas here, but we are…so welcome to Fletcher Creek Cottage! To be perfectly honest I have been in the Christmas spirit for weeks and weeks! I mean, look at this view! How can I not have EVERYTHING Christmas on the brain when looking out my window… at this!?!? Now, let’s get on with the cozy Christmas cottage tour!
Over the years we have moved around so many times that we rarely have more than one or two Christmases in the same home. So, now that we are settled, it feels amazing to start bringing out our special Christmas decor as well as add a little new decor here and there! By “new” decor I basically mean new to me/vintage decor!
I knew right away that this year I wanted more trees…like WAY more! If you saw my post about last year, you know that we dug up little pine trees from all over our property. Winter this year decided to come early and we had quite a heavy snowfall, which meant our ground was too frozen to dig up trees this year!
I love all the texture in these grapevine trees with all the pinecones! I found them at Hobby Lobby and I had a blast picking them out! I probably spend an hour setting out all the different bottle brush trees, and any kind of tree I could find really, on the aisle floor!!! I am sure everyone around me though I was a little crazy!
But hey, it’s not every day that your husband calls you on his way home from work asking to take you on a date to Starbucks and Hobby Lobby! I had to make the most of it!!! He definitely knows how to make my decor/coffee lovin’ heart skip a beat!
The cottage quickly turned into a forest winter wonderland making it even cozier!!! Trees everywhere you look! LOL! I love to decorate with vintage items that are unique whenever I can. I was thrilled when I found these vintage snowshoes. Even though they have broken bindings, they’re perfect for hanging up on the wall for the winter months!
I tried to keep it simple in the kitchen by just hanging a wreath above the sink and adding little bells to the barn doors! I am still totally over the moon for this chippy, white piece of architectural salvage I dug out of a burn pile!!! Talk about an awesome deal!!! It adds a little “something, something” to that space!
I like to keep hats and things in this little, galvanized bucket near the door! We use our hot tub in the winter months and it’s super handy to have a bunch of hats to throw on before jumping into the hot tub…and for those of you who don’t know, we live in Northern Michigan, so that makes hats pretty much mandatory, even in the hot tub!!!
The very first Christmas we were married, we took a road trip to Bronner’s Christmas Store (the world’s largest Christmas store) and purchased a few things for our first Christmas tree! It had been 17 years since then and our kids had never been there, so we recently took another road trip and I found the cutest woodland animal ornaments there! I loved how they all look handpainted! Christmas at the Cottage is hard to beat!
We are loving this neutral, winter wonderland set up for the cottage! It feels warm and inviting all while being super low key and not too bright and over the top! Because we have such long winters here in Michigan, I’m hoping it will be super easy to transition into winter decor after the Christmas season is over.
Thank you so much for joining me for this little Cozy Christmas Cottage Tour…wow, say that three times fast!!!
