My Fall Front Porch is definitely one of my favorite things to decorate!
Of course, decorating the front porch for Christmas is right up there too, but lets to ahead of ourselves…it is only the first week of October and I don’t decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving most years. However, I will decorate earlier if the weather is looking like snow because I’d much rather decorate my porch for Christmas when it’s above freezing outside!
But, I’m not here to talk about that…I’m here to share with you my fall front porch! I took the same approach to decorate the porch for fall as I did inside the Cottage! My goal was to keep things simple, use what I had and not buy a whole bunch of decor!
I raided my garden and brought in all kinds of gourds and pumpkins! I just love how grandpa’s little red wagon looks all full of straw and mini pumpkins!
My front porch is 40 feet long and since Fletcher Creek Cottage is small, we use the front porch for extended living space in the spring, summer, and fall. In the winter months, it’s all I can do to keep it free from the snow!
I kept the string lights up from the summer…I was going to take them down and then I changed my mind at the last minute! What do you think? They look okay for fall too right!?
One thing I do love to add to my fall porch is MUMS!!! They are so inexpensive and there are so many gorgeous colors to choose from that I always end up bringing 4-8 home with me each fall! Even if they only last for a short while…they make the porch look so festive that it’s totally worth it!
I don’t have many porch planters, so I looked around to see what I could use for the mums instead of a typical pot! I decided to use a galvanized bucket and placed a few inside some old potato crates my FIL rescued for me from his childhood farm! Thinking outside the “box” (haha, pun intended) and using something that maybe wasn’t created to be used that way can really add a little something extra to a space!
This old church pew was one of the treasures I found at Liz Marie’s The Found Cottage Merchantile Market recently!
